(running) Circles in the Forest Trail Run – 10 August 2019
Running is repetitive. One step in front of the other. We keep moving forwards but never quite knowing where we will end up, often with feelings of running in circles. Such is life – repetitive, falsely assuming we never going anywhere, but actually the circular trails we trace always have purpose, even if it's to confirm we are on the right track.

The trail running of the Circles in the Forest Trail Run was indicative of a confirmation for us in continuing to navigate our way northwards further into Africa. This race on this trail, aptly named with the author Dalene Matthee in mind, after her fictious novel Kringe in ‘n bos (Circles in a Forest), plots the journey of a man and his traces of an elephant and his circular trails in the indigenous forests of Knysna as he navigated his way in life.

As reading this, you are probably not of the very few who have all things worked out, and even if you do, how often do you run your race feeling you are running in circles? Keep running, one step in front of the other. Completing the circle is not the finish of the race, rather, it's all part of the adventure.

What circular race are you running?
