Jesus Trail

Tales are easy to read. Even writing a Tale is somewhat easy. Yet, some Tales are not so easy to create. This is true for the Jesus Trail. This 72 kilometre, 5 day, 4 night hiking trail which traverses the lands of our Saviour Jesus from his home town of Nazareth to Capernaum (Matthew 4:12-17) alongside the Sea of Galilee has probably been one of our toughest trails to Trailblaze to date.

This Tale describes (to the best of our ability) the Jesus Trail – the highs and lows, the blood, sweat and some tears.

Day 1: Nazareth (Matthew 2:23) to Zippori (10.3 km; 40 degrees Celcius)

Wild camping at Zippori.

Day 2: Zippori to Lavi Forest (Roman Road) via Cana (John 2:1-12) (18.8 km; 40 degrees Celcius)

Via Maris Roman Road.

Day 3: Lavi Forest to Arbel National Park (Hosea 10:14) (21.1 km; 32 degrees Celcius)

Ancient Wine Press.

Wild camping next to a 4th Century Synagogue.

Day 4: Arbel National Park to Magdala (Luke 8:1-3) (6.5 km; 25 degrees Celcius)

Sea of Galilee, 212 metres below sea level.

Day 5: Magdala to Capernaum (Luke 4:31-37) via Mount of Beatitudes (Matthew 5-7) (14.7 km; 24 degrees Celcius)

Ancient village of Capernaum.

The Jesus Trail proved to be a hot, hard and honouring experience.

Sojourning so far.
